Preparing freshly-made items by following our tried and true recipes and procedures to provide our customers with an enjoyable meal that meets and exceeds their expectations. Our cooks are also expected to keep their workspaces clean and organized and communicate well with coworkers. Some items are ordered via short order and some are via kitchen printer. Great listening skills are a must. Additional duties include: prepping ingredients, portioning, stocking, and cleaning. Cooks must be willing and able to lift 100 lbs, and must maintain a valid food handler certificate on file. We are a high volume restaurant, with a tremendously busy catering division. Our cooks must work well under pressure while maintaining high quality standards for all of their work.

Cashier/Front of House:
Providing our customers with a great experience at River Smith's, which starts with a movie star smile. Our skilled cashiers anticipate our customers' needs and do what it takes to ensure the customers leave with a strong desire to return. Some of the daily responsibilities include: efficient cash handling, excellent oral communication, positive body language, attention to detail, cleaning, and stocking. All front of house staff must maintain a valid food handler certificate on file, as well as a valid TABC certificate (if applicable).

Line Leader:
Our line leaders are our entry level managers who tend to several daily responsibilities in ensuring the restaurant's smooth operations in both kitchen and the front of the house. Our line leaders are predominantly charged with opening and closing shifts. Some of their responsibilities include: cash handling, receiving and confirming catering orders, ensuring all crew shifts are covered daily, cleaning checklists, expediting orders, and enforcing policies and procedures. The most important item is that our restaurant opens every day in a timely fashion. Line leaders must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean record, valid TABC certificate as well as a valid ServSafe Manager Certification. Line leaders can expect to work 40-50 hours on a normal week. Overtime is expected weekly.
